Frequently asked

What players ask

What is MR12?

The current competitive Counter-Strike format: 24 rounds maximum, 12 per side, and the first team to 13 wins. It is the format used in UpFrag's ranked 5v5.

What is the difference between ranked and casual 5v5?

Ranked runs MR12 with map veto and full economy, and the result moves your Glicko-2 rating. Casual uses the same format with no effect on rank: it is the mode for warming up, trying a role or playing with friends of very different levels.

How do you play 5v5 CS2 outside Valve matchmaking?

Through a third-party platform. On UpFrag: sign in with Steam, verify the account, then queue for 5v5. Matches run on dedicated servers with recorded demos and feed a rating that belongs to the platform.

Do you have to pay to play 5v5?

No. Signing up and playing ranked matches is free. UP-Coins are only used where a stake is involved, such as a wager or a paid tournament.
